Vladimir Yevgenyevich Orlov was born in 1976 in Leningrad. In 1991, Orlov graduated from the Music school (class honored worker of Culture I.B. Mironova), playing first solo part at the Great Hall Academic Capella named after M.Glinka. In 1995 he graduated from the Music College N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov (class honored worker of Culture M.P. Govorushko). In 2000 he graduated with honors from SPbGK the field of ”accordion” (class of prof., Honored Artist of Russia, Academician Petrovsky Academy of Arts and Sciences and Professor Govorushko P.I., Honored Artist of Russia, Head Chair Accordion SPbGK, Corresponding Member of Peter’s Academy of Arts and Sciences O.M. Sharova) and “conducting the Orchestra” (class of prof., honored Artist of Russia and Tatarstan Tikhonov A.V.), playing a solo concert in the Small Hall of Capella named after Glinka. In 2003 he graduated from the assisenturu internship SPbGK – accordion (creative director Oleg M. Sharov). He was awarded a Laureate of international and national competitions, including four first prizes and one Grand Prix, won in St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Belgrade, Hannover (Germany), Chengdu (China) and Castelfidardo (Italy). He has performed many concerts in Russia, Denmark, Sweden and in the Baltic region both as a soloist and as part of various projects. Orlov has played in a symphony orchestra of St. Petersburg Capella (conductor Dm. Khokhlov, R. Skuratov), St. Petersburg Philharmonic (conductor Alexander Titov), the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic (conductor J. Meyer), the Philharmonic for Children (director P. Gribanov). He works closely with contemporary composers, extending the original literature for accordion. The result of this collaboration were more than 15 works for accordion solo and chamber ensemble (including Sonata for accordion). Orlov is the creator, artistic director and member of the quartet «QUARTRU». As part of this ensemble he has recorded and released two CD disks, held radio and television programs, a number of articles appeared in periodicals dedicated to the work of the ensemble. Permanent member of contemporary music festivals such as “Musical Spring”, “Sound Ways”, “From avant-garde to the present day”.
