Nikos Efthimiadis, Conductor and Professor, has studied music in Greece, Italy and Servia. In Italy he studied in ISTITUTO MUSICALE “VITTADINI” of Pavia and in PONTIFICIO INSTITUTO DI MUSICA SACRA of Milan. He has specialized to the Gregorian – Amvrosian Monophonic Chant and to the Renaissance Polyphonic Music with the Professors Luigi Agustoni, Alberto Turko, Nino Albarosa, Andrea Von Ramme, Giovanni Acciai and Antony Zecchi. He holds a Master’s Degree of Arts in conducting of orchestra at the Music Faculty of Belgrade. He is Chairman of the Panhellenic Federation of Choirs and Choir Directors, Chairman of Inter – Balkanic Executive Committee of Music, Artistic Director of the International Music Festival of Delphi, of the International Choral Festival of Karditsa and Conservatories. He has performed more than 700 concerts around the world (Europe – USA) conducting symphony orchestras, choirs, soloists with many first world performances of Compositions of Greek and Foreign Composers. He has been a leader to the spread of classical polyphonic music (Madrigals-Motets, etc.) in Greece through multiple choral workshops, meetings, festivals (Karditsa, Delphi, Kefalonia, Livadia, Kifissia, etc.), competitions (Karditsa) and workshops of Conducting in Greece and abroad. Editor – Director of the pioneering magazine of music education, choral music, composition and musicology “NEW MUSIC BRIEFCASE” (NEOS MOUSIKOS XARTOFULAKAS). Today as Artistic Director of Conservatories, International Festivals and Choirs (Madrigalists of Athens, Mandrigalists of Karditsa, etc) gives daily his best for the development of music in Greece. He has been a Member of the European Commission of the European Union of Music, based in Luxembourg (1994-1996). He has represented Greece in the signing of the Charter of the European Musicians. His Scientific works and articles have been published in abroad in prestigious magazines and newspapers. He has also attended the Greek version of the innovative music education book “SING by READING» of Roberto Goitre. He has been member of Examination Committees of Ministry of Education for the entrance of music teachers in the Public Sector. He participated in the Jury Boards in World Festival and Competitions.
