Henri Pompidor

Originally from the south of France, Dr Henri Pompidor studied music, organ and choral conducting at the Regional Music Conservatory of Toulouse. After his state diploma (D.E.) in choral conducting, he attended the Institute of music and musicology at the University of Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV) where he obtained his Master’s degree (D.EA.) and his Doctorate (PhD.) in 1987. After being music director of several choirs in Europe, he was appointed to Thailand as head of the choral department at Rangsit Conservatory of Music in 2004 and he joined the Mahidol University College of Music, one of the most important Music Faculties in the Kingdom one year later. During several years, he worked there as chorus master, choral director and permanent choral conductor for the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (T.P.O.). Member of the French choral conductors’ society (S.F.C.C.), Dr Henri Pompidor is currently teaching choral singing and choral conducting at the Conservatory of Paris (11th district). He also devotes his activity internationally to choral education, especially through numerous master classes and workshops performed around the world (China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Spain, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Japan). As an active adjudicator and clinician, he has been regularly invited to many international festivals & choral competitions (I.F.C.M., Interkultur…).
