Aleksandar Jakovljević

ALEKSANDAR JAKOVLJEVIĆ, MA (1967) graduated in Violoncello at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade, in the class of prof. Viktor Jakovčić and obtained his MA degree in Chamber Music, in the class of prof. Uroš Pešić. From 1989, he worked as a member of Belgrade String Quartet, with which he specialized at the masterclass Amadeus String Quartet in London. At the same time, he was a member of Belgrade Philharmony and the Orchestra of the Theatre at Terazije. From 1993, he has worked as a cello teacher at Music School Stevan Mokranjac in Kraljevo. Since 1996, he lived and worked in the Dominicana Republic and was a member of the quartets Belotti and Del Orbe, as well as a member of the National Symphony Orchestra Constantinus in Santo Domingo. Since 2003, he has worked as a teacher of Chamber Music at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, a member of the piano trio Constantinus and a leader of the cello-section of the Chamber Orchestra Constantinusa member of the string trio La KampaLamela. During 2003-2008 he was engaged as a mentor of the cello-section of the International Youth Symphony Orchestra of the central-European initiative. He has performed in almost all major concert halls throughout Europe. Since November in 2011, he has been the Artistic director and the conductor of the City Orchestra Crvčanin in Kraljevo. Currently, he is in title of the Associate Professor at the Department of Chamber Music.
