Mojca Sedeu (1970) was born in Skopje. She graduated from Faculty of Music Arts in Skopje in 1993 at Department of percussion instruments. She completed her specialist studies of percussion solo playing in Sofia in the class of prof. Dobri Paliev in 1995 and her specialist studies in chamber music in 1997. She obtained her MA degree at the National Academy of Music in Sofia in 1998. She is the winner of the highest prize at the International Competition for Instrumentalists and Composers “Music and Country” and the Special Interpretation Award of the Bulgarian Composers Association, as well as a winner of the “Georgi Bozikov” Award by the Macedonian Composers Union. As a performer, she has produced numerous recordings for radio and TV stations. She has participated in projects together with Heinz von Moisi, Rey Charles, Rhani Kriya, Theodosii Spasov, Brothers Tavitjan, Kaliopi. She has collaborated with several orchestras: Macedonian Opera, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Vojvodina Philharmonic Orchestra, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. Mojca Sedeu is also active as a soloist and has performed at numerous festivals and events: “Macedonian Music Days”, “Ohrid Summer”, “Autumnal Music Festivals”, “Skopje Summer”, as well as concerts in Croatia, Bulgaria , Canada, Germany, England. Since 1998, Mojca Sedeu has been teaching at the University of Music, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (percussion, chamber music and orchestra sections). Sedeu is the founder and artistic director of the Sonant Percussion Ensemble, formed by renowned percussionists from her class at FMA-Skopje, and has received numerous international awards. She was a Member of the jury committee of the international percussion competition “Prof. Dr. D. Paliev – Prof. dr. Z. Fink”, R. Bulgaria in 2001, as well as a member and president of the jury at the 2003 National Student Music Competition. She was included in International Cultural Cooperation in the Concert Cycle “New Scene” of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Macedonia 2003-2004, as well as a member of the Expert Team for Educational Development 2008-2011.
