Vladimir Tatarević was born in Belgrade where he graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of the Arts in 1997. After completing a master’s course, he traveled the world and visited more than thirty countries in the course of a two-year journey by working for “Trans Ocean Photos”. In 2000, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, USA where he worked as a photographer for various companies. In the summer of 2002, he won First Prize at the national competition of photographers “Life Touch” in Atlanta. Towards the end of 2002, he returned to his hometown where he continued a career as a freelance artist. He earned Master’s degree in the field of photography in 2007 with the theme “PIXEL Like Visual Element” Vladimir had sixteen solo exhibitions and participated in many national and international group exhibitions. Tatarević is the first Serbian photographer whose work appeared on the cover of the National Geographic Magazine (Belgrade Mummy), which entered the top five headlines around the world for 2007. His work was published in several prestigious magazines such as the National Geographic, Nature Conservancy, Cosmopolitan, Men’s Health… As a commercial photographer and in collaboration with marketing agencies at home and abroad as well as with reputable portfolio clients, Vladimir Tatarević’s work is positioned at the very top of the professional scene. Was a jury member for several international exhibitions. Worked on project “Infestation” in cooperation with Delta Maxi Co., 2010. Held many workshops in Serbia. In 2014, in collaboration with Dubravka Lazić, PhD, he wrote “Photography” a textbook for the Art High Schools published by the Institute for Textbooks and Teaching in Belgrade. From 2005 – 2015, he was teaching photography as a docent and from 2015 up to the present, he has been teaching as an associate professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade.
