Milkica Ponjavić (1981), graduated with highest grades from the Faculty of Arts in Niš in the class of Professor Vesna Petković. As a student, she won numerous awards at local and international competitions playing guitar as a solo artist or in chamber ensembles. She became a member and was awarded scholarship by the Energoprojekt-Culture Music Club, where she took part in numerous public performances with recognized artists from the region. In addition, she performed in numerous famous halls as a soloist or in chamber ensembles in Serbia, region and America. She is a member of Sensartika trio. She extended her professional knowledge by attending numerous seminars of national and foreign renowned guitar players and artists. She recorded for national and local TV and radio stations. She has been teaching pedagogy since 2002, and since 2006 she has been a professor of guitar and chamber music at the Dr Vojislav Vučković Music School in Belgrade. Her students perform and host master classes at prestigious festivals, and have won more than 200 awards (laureates and first prize winners) at prestigious domestic and international festivals so far. They are also successful graduates of the most prestigious European music academies and conservatories. She has received high honors for her outstanding contribution to the promotion of classical guitar and youth development. She is an active lecturer and jury member of many international festivals, most important including: Guitar Art Festival, Sarajevo International Guitar Festival, Academician Marin Goleminov, Vojvodina Guitar Festival, Guitar Open Festival, Naissus Guitar Festival, VArt Guitar Competition, International Guitar Festival Le., Memorial M. Đorđević, Panonia guitar fest and Guitar United Fest. She regularly holds master workshops at the International Music Center Eva according to the method of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. She is the founder and lecturer of the Winter Classical Guitar Schools at Tara and Zlatibor, and a lecturer at Summer Camp in Cincinnati, America. She is a member of the organizing team of Guitar Art Festival in Belgrade.
